From the villa at Grand Bay, 10 mins walk to any buses going anywhere to the other part of the island. The villa is situated near the centre of Grand Bay (10 min from the hypermarket Super U and 200 meters of the beach).

Grand Bay is protected from the south east trade winds and with sunny skies almost all year round, Grand Bay has been able to add good weather to lovely scenery and become the most popular tourist area on the island with his nice beaches. Grand Bay is a bustling resort with everything you could need during your holiday. The bungalow is situated near the centre of Grand Bay (10 min from a very big supermarket and 200 meters of the beach), you will also have access to all the services (Local Tour Operator, Doctors, Pharmacies, Banks, Post Office, office to exchange money, Restaurants, Bus, Leisure, laundries, hairdressers, water sports, beaches, Car Rental, dentists,etc...).At 3 Km is situated the longest village on the island, offers the opportunity to visit the biggest Hindu temple. Departure from the bungalow to the big jetty for the cruise on the northern island is only 200 meters. The cluster of small islet ( Flat island, Gabriel Island and Gunner's point) off the north coast has become a favorite stop for catamarans and diving groups. The famous botanical garden of Pamplemouses is only at 15 minutes from our bungalow. The capital of Mauritius, Port Louis is at 20 minutes from Grand Bay.
While located beside the biggest shopping centre in the main tourist area Grand Bay, the house is within 100 meters from public beaches and other local facilities including bank, supermarket, restaurants and hotels, tour operators, souvenir shops, Pharmacies, doctors,Banks, Post office, office to exchange money, leisures, hairdressers etc
A casino, golf course is only a short journey by car or public transport.
Sightseeing excursions, boat-trips, wind surfing, parasailing, water skiig snorkeling, diving and deep-sea fishing are offered by independent companies nearby.

Grand Bay is approximately 65 km from Plaisance airport and transfers can be pre-arranged for an additional fee.
Public transport - clearly marked taxis are readily available throughout Mauritius and a flexible approach to the use of meters/ fare negotiation is taken. Frequent bus services to Port Louis and other villages are available from Grand Bay.
Car rental can be arranged through various local and the major international companies. Cars can be collected from and returned to Plaisance airport or from Grand Bay. ABC Car Rentals is an established Mauritian rental company that operates from the airport and other locations. Bicycle and scooter hire can also be arranged through local operators.
There is a free telephone for local calls and for receiving international calls. For outgoing international calls use a prepaid card or hook-up your laptop to SKYPE.
You can reach the golf course of TROU-AUX-BICHES by car in 15 minutes.
Tennis is also available at CASUARINA hotel in TROU-AUX-BICHES. Otherwise 7 courts are accessible day/evenings at TENNIS-DU-NORD in LABOURDONNAIS less than 30 minutes away.
