Chek Jawa

Go around Chek Jawa and discover that it is rich with marine life.

Found only by chance through a nature outing, it is virtually unknown before 2000. Chek Jawa is located at the eastern part of Pulau Ubin, an island north-east of Singapore, it is divided into 6 distinct habitats - coastal forest, mangroves, sand bars, seagrass lagoon, rocky shore & coral rubble.

One can find starfish, sea horses and octopi residing in the sand flats, marine flatworms and peacock anemones amongst the sea-grass, and sponge of all shapes and colours living in the coral rubble.
