Mobile phone information 2 mobile phone networks are used in Singapore, GSM 900 and GSM 1800. There are 3 mobile phone service providers, Singtel, M1 and Starhub. The access codes for making international calls are 001, 013, 019 for Singtel, 021 for M1, and 008, 018 for Starhub. Prepaid SIM cards can be obtained at the service provider stores, 7-Eleven outlets and other retail outlets. |
Payphone services
Public phones can be found in most shopping complexes and MRT stations. Those operated by credit card and stored-value phonecards can be used to make international calls.
Local calls are charged at 10 cents for every 3 minutes.
The phonecards are sold at SGD 2, SGD 5, SGD 10, SGD 20 and SGD 50 and can be purchased from post offices and other retail outlets.
International Calling Cards can also available at all post offices including Singapore Changi Airport, 7-Eleven stores and other retail outlets with values of SGD 10, SGD 20 and SGD 50.
To make an international call, dial the access code followed by the country code, area code and then telephone number. The access code for the different phone companies are 001 for SingTel, 002 for M1 and 008 for Starhub.
